NIGHTMARE!!!!

So this morning I am on my computer in my loft which is just down the hall from the girls bedrooms. They asked if they could set up a "tea party" in the hallway so ofcourse I said yes. 20 minutes later and ALL the stuffed animals in the house, the party looked like it was ready to go. Then they asked if they could "dress up" for their party. Again I said yes. So 10 mintues later the heels and pricess gowns were put on and they were welcoming their guests. Then I dont hear anything. (For those of you that don't know my two girls that NEVER happens) They are usually arguing saying"my turn to talk".

So I give a shout and ask them what they are doing and Isabela says "just getting pretty in the bathroom". I dont hear the water running so I finish up on the computer. 2 mintues later I ask again what they are doing then Isabela replies the phrase I think I will have nightmares about for years to come.........

"I am just cutting my hair to look like YOU". I RAN (FYI 8months pregnant) into the bathroom and there she was with preschool scissors cutting off her beautiful blonde curly hair. I have to tell you I have NEVER been good at handling stressful situtaions thats why Johnny and I work well together. He doesnt freak out and it takes a lot for him to react to something. I immediately starting freaking out and losing my cool. I wasnt yelling at her but I couldnt grasp that this was actually happening.

As I could see a pile of her hair in the corner of my eyes I am asking her why she did that and she replied "I wanted to look like you and I wanted to cut my hair like YAYA cuts Daddys hair". (YAYA aka Pilar cuts Johnnys hair at our house) Dont they say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery...Yeah it didn't feel like it.

Thankfully I got to her before it got too bad. Since they were kids scissors and not sharp she couldnt do too much damage. She basically cut herself some bangs about 1/4 inch from her head and a little on the sides. If she wears it down it is horrible but if its up or in picktails you would just think she has really jacked up bangs. She left a lot of it long and since she has really curly hair the short parts curl and wave into the longer parts but I tell you what I was very close to going into labor when I saw that pile of hair.

She is such a sweetheart too. Afterwards she said mommy I am still VERY pretty. I told her it didnt matter what she wore of if she even had any hair that she was one of the most beautiful girls in the world.

I know I will get comments on posting a picture but too bad you guys will get one as soon as I GET OVER IT!!!

That is so sad! I would have cried I think! Zander cut his hair once, but boys are different...much easier to cover up. Good thing for the curls to help it blend, huh?

Ya, I would have lost my cool...hair does not grow back over night, but she is still beautiful no matter what!

Oh dear!! I can only imagine how you must have felt & still feel. She is so beautiful & I'll have to keep my eye out at church, since there's no pictures. My niece just did the same thing two months ago. I'm going to have to lock the scissors away at our house.

Oh, that is completely my worst nightmare also. I am just waiting for Max to do that to Elle. Of course I want a pic, no doubt she is still completely darling.

So where are the pictures of this? That is too cute. I knew a family that had a babysitter over and the kids wanted to play dressup, hair and make-up with the sitter so she let them. What she didn't realize was that one of the girls got a pair of scissors and cut the babysitter's hair. Yikes!

Yep. That's pretty mean to post something like this and then not give us the pictures to go with it! That is so hysterical! It seems like this experience is like the initiation into true motherhood of girls. Maybe I should count my blessings that Jane couldn't cut her hair if she wanted to because there isn't enough to cut!

I'm so sorry for those curls!
